IAPP Chapter Meeting
January 17th, 2001

The Oregon Chapter of IAPP meeting
was held on January 17, 2001 at the Marriott Hotel downtown Portland.
There were 28 National members and 80 Guests for a total of 108
in attendance.
Mike
Boyle, Oregon Chapter President opened the meeting at 8:35 am
by welcoming and thanking the attendees for coming. He gave a
special welcome to the new attendees. Attendees were reminded
that National membership is important to the local chapter and
encouraged all guests to become members.

Mike
thanked Brian Rucker of PRG, Profit
Recovery Group for sponsoring the meeting speaker
Frank Abagnale, the meeting location and a wonderful Continental
Breakfast.
He
then encouraged attendance at the IAPP Annual Forum April
16 - 20 in Las Vegas and reminded the attendees that the
CAPP test will be administered during that week.

introduced Brian Rucker of PRG
who was honored to introduce Frank Abagnale.

Frank
Abagnale is one of the worlds most respected authorities
on the subjects of Forgery, Embezzlement, and Secure Documents.
He has lectured to and consulted with hundreds of financial
institutions, corporations and government agencies around
the world for the past 25 years.

& Associates does not charge for any publications that
they print, just call 1-800-237-7443 and say that Mr. Abagnale
said you would send me the kit and if you need one, ask for
a UCC Booklet.
Mike
thanked Mr. Abagnale for the great presentation. Also, a
new door prize sign up sheet is at the reception table for
anyone who would like to donate for the next meeting. We

introduced Joe Schoen the Vice President and Pat Bowton the
Secretary. Our
next meeting will be on March 21, 2001 - Howard
Schultz and Associates will be sponsoring this meeting.
They are sponsoring Rich Shoen who specializes in Business
Communications and Consolidated Freightways will give a presentation
on building teams. |

June
13th is the following meeting and we are still looking for
a sponsor.
Mike
reminded attendees that National membership gets you discounts
at the Annual Conference and supports the local chapter.
Jonelle
Dresser from PRG
drew names for the door prizes.The winners noted below.
Mike
thanked those that donated the door prizes and Frank Abagnale.
He thanked the attendees for coming and the meeting then
closed promptly at 11:30 a.m
