| Phyllis introduced Joanie Johnston, who gave a brief overview of her favorite seminar from the IAPP Forum 2003. Anita Havemann and Joyce Larkins also gave presentations. After our members had finished presenting, we heard from several people from Net One Scan One. They told us about their data storage and retrieval business, and how it could be of use to the accounts payable person. They gave us a brief history of this type of business and their own company as well. They also discussed the different types of applications and some processing options that are available. | ||||||||||

After this informative presentation by Net One Scan One,
we served lunch and continued with the business portion of our meeting.
We had an open discussion to suggest ideas for future meetings. Several
really good ideas were talked about including:
1. Doing 15 minute company profiles 2. Making short introductions of attendees and their companies 3. Open discussions on prearranged topics 4. Job opening announcements not posted on the internet Some of the open discussion topics suggested were: |

Some thought was given to having a Petty Cash fund to offset costs of
refreshments and we also discussed alternatives to catering lunches. There
was an idea presented to have a special drawing for a prize for the people
who brought a guest or were attending their first meeting in over a year.
It was decided that three companies would have profiles done at the next meeting, and they were, MEDIC FIRST AID Int'l. Inc, Hollywood Entertainment, and Nike Inc. It was also decided that we would retain the present meeting format and there would be further discussion of these ideas at our next meeting. Jenny Mason from Robert Half International in Beaverton, volunteered
to host our next meeting with a date to be determined later. At the end of the meeting the door prizes were given out, photos were taken of the recipients and the meeting was adjourned. |
