IAPP Chapter Meeting
March 21st, 2001

| The
Oregon Chapter of IAPP meeting was held on March 21, 2001
at the McMenamins Kennedy School in North Portland. There
were 24 National members and 60 Guests for a total of 84 in
attendance.
Mike
Boyle, Oregon Chapter President opened the meeting at 11:00
am by welcoming and thanking the attendees for coming. He
stated that our purpose is to provide value and information
for you today. He thanked
Howard Schultz for sponsoring the meeting and a great
door prize.

Mike
then introduced Janet Haas-Jones, the Director of Business
Development with
Howard Schultz & Associates International, out of
the Phoenix office, who introduced the first guest speaker,
Dr. Rich Shoen who has spent his life working in the communication
area and will present today “The Fog Factor”.
At
12:15 we broke for a great buffet lunch, again sponsored
by
Howard Schultz & Associates.

After
the final speakers at 1:45 Mike encouraged attendance at the
IAPP Annual Forum April 16 - 20 in Los Vegas and reminded
the attendees that the CAPP test will be administered during
that week. There will be 5 or 6 people attending the national
forum in April. Mike asked that someone take pictures and
bring them back for him to use for the next chapter meeting.

requested volunteers for sponsoring the next few meetings.
He reminded everyone that elections are coming up June 13th
and we are looking for a sponsor or the meeting might be
in the parking lot of CNF if we don’t get one in time. Also,
he asked that people start thinking about nominating themselves
for the elections.

Mike
introduced the officers of the chapter, himself the President,
Joe Schoen the Vice President and Pat Bowton the Secretary.

minutes with presentations and pictures and link to the

Joyce
larkins with Consolidated Freightways and Janna Haas-Jones
with Howard Schultz drew names for the door prizes.

thanked the companies that donated the door prizes and
Howard Schultz & Associates for sponsoring the meeting,
Rich Shoen for his lecture and
Consolidated Freightways for their presentation. He thanked
the attendees for coming and closed the meeting promptly at 2:00
p.m.
