Meeting Minutes
Oregon chapter of IAPP
October 16, 2002

Mike Boyle, Oregon Chapter President, opened the meeting and welcomed the attendees. The meeting was held at OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). There were 40 in attendance, including 20 national members. Mike discussed the election of new officers for our chapter and indicated voting should be completed prior to the movie at 2:00.
Mike thanked our sponsor Concur Technologies for hosting the meeting and providing the lunch and entertainment. He then introduced Daryl Joslin, Senior Marketing Manager of Concur, who gave a presentation on Maximizing ROI with Corporate Expense Management. Scott Newell of Concur assisted her.

After Concur's presentation, the ballots were collected and counted. The unanimous vote of our IAPP members elected the following board members:

Mike Boyle - President
CNF Service Company
Phyllis Kaylor - Vice President
Peace Health Oregon Region
Kim Frantz - Secretary
City of Hillsboro

Concur Technologies also sponsored the entertainment for the day which was the Omnimax theater presentation of Space Station. It was a very enjoyable event!

After the movie, Mike discussed the CAPP exam that will be held at the next forum which will be in Seattle. He then introduced Pat Bowton as our next speaker.

Pat is a native Oregonian that previously served as our local chapter secretary. Earlier this year she accepted a position with IAPP in Orlando, Florida and has relocated to Florida. Pat serves as the National Education Manager for IAPP. She spoke to the group about the many benefits of being an IAPP member and encouraged any non-members to join.
Mike gave some examples of how his membership in IAPP has helped in his position; whether it is asking questions about vendors or systems or answering questions about many topices. Mike opened the session to questions and answers.

Door prizes were awarded and the meeting was adjourned.
