The IAPP was founded
in 1992 from a small group of local companies surrounding the
Orlando area. These pioneering individuals recognized that Accounts
Payable, as a profession, was not receiving the recognition and
status it deserved from corporate peers. The opportunity to network
information was almost non-existent.
Since that small beginning, IAPP has grown and become a resounding
success. The annual Forum, which is still the backbone of the
organization, has grown from just a few attendees to virtually
every Fortune 500 company in the United States. The convention
now plays host to nearly 2,000 A/P professionals each year for
the 4-day event, and the speakers, workshops, and information
exchange just keep getting "better and better!"
In 2001, the IAPP began a program to designate "Certified
Accounts Payable Professional", or CAPP. This professional
certification requires the designee to meet stringent professional
and educational requirements. They must pass a lengthy certification
test. And they must meet continuing education requirements.
The designation "CAPP" is proudly born professionally
by qualified IAPP members.
The Oregon chapter of IAPP, open to members in Southwest Washington
and throughout Oregon, is the local arm of the national organization.
We share networking and learning opportunities, and hold chapter
meetings once a quarter. We try to provide our members with
valuable information at each of our meetings and throw in a
little fun also! Our member meetings are held at local companies
in the region and play host to a varying attendance of 50 to
110 members. Check the "Meeting
Agendas" page for upcoming events!
Our Oregon IAPP Web is particularly rich in presenting detailed
recaps of prior meeting presentations. Go to the
"Presentations" tab and take a look!
And speaking of "Taking a Look!" move on to the various
meeting recaps of prior meetings. Chances are, if you visited
us, we have your picture on file! (There's no escape now!).
Check out the "Meeting
Minutes" tab!
Need to chat with your fellow A/P professionals in the area?
Contact them via Email right from this web site. Go to the "Directory"
tab! (No soliciations please - just honest networking questions
among A/P professionals!)
You are cordially invited to attend our next meeting, whether
you are a member of the National IAPP, an A/P or related-area
professional who is curious about what we have to offer, or
a vendor who may be interested in meeting our members or may
have something to offer us in a future presentation.
Your local chapter is committed to making the Oregon IAPP into
a viable and valuable organization. Please join us each quarter,
N E T W O R K and C O N T R I B U T E !
Through
sharing we all find the bottom line and profit
